Internal Capacity Building
In June the Dushanbe Civil Society Support Center was legally registered as the Third Sector and
obtained an official status as a local NGO. Currently the organization is working on establishing a
governing body. The leader of the organization, Temursho Imatshoev, attended the Governance
Workshop to learn how to form a governing body for the new organization.
As part of their strategy to develop their organizational policy, members of the Third Sector attended
a number of Counterpart's basic trainings to improve their management skills, including; NGO
Management, Financial Management, Strategic Planning and Constituency Building.
All the books at the Resource Center of the Third Sector were entered into an electronic database,
which should help the Resource Center Manager to track books and NGO resource materials. The
Resource Center Manger also developed library cards. This quarter 30 new Russian books on various
civil society, management, and conflict resolution issues were purchased in Tashkent and added to the
Resource Center.
